Of the many residences located in Ontario, Carling Residence is certainly amongst the most enchanting ones as the residence has many things that make it enchanting. The residence itself was designed by TACT Architecture, a Toronto-based studio and the residence was completed in late 2010.
It was built for a couple who were looking to leave the city. Set on a 26-acre lot into a rustic forest, the residence nestles itself into a clearing between rock ridges to the east and the west.
The residence is set amongst towering trees and thus, it benefits from the natural shade and privacy the trees offer while still allowing for stunningly spectacular views of both the forest and the Georgian Bay.
If you approach the residence from the north, you will be presented with an understated facade with minimal glazing and once inside the home, you will find spectacular views from large picture windows which make up most of the residence’s southern building face.
Without a doubt, Carling Residence is a residence with an enchanting design and the residence itself has minimalist inspired interiors that compliment the rugged surroundings, thus, enhancing the beauty of the landscape, as well as making it an integral part of the design applied to the residence.
Situated in Northern Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, the house has south facing windows and large trellised above them. In the residence, a simple restrained material pallet of stone, concrete, white walls, and wood contribute to the elemental feeling of the building.
The residence is heated by a zoned radiant floor system via a high-efficiency boiler that is supplemented by a heat recovery ventilation system. Aside from having a zoned radiant floor system, the residence also has spray-foam insulated roof.
The residence does not have an air conditioning unit for cooling and in fact, it does not require one. In any way, the residence sure has a lot of things to offer and if you are wondering how the residence looks, you can try seeing photos of the residence shot by Terence Tourangeau.
