Of the many houses located in New Zealand, City House is unquestionably one of the houses with the most marvelous designs. The house is located in Auckland and it is a 2011 project by Architex.
The house was designed with an emphasis on transparency and the relationship between the house’s indoor and exterior spaces. The house constitutes an inner city home designed for a single client as a retreat from the client’s busy professional life.
The site was purchased with an approved Resource Consent for a family home and as a result, a revised brief was developed in order to fit into the approved envelope.
The site itself is developed to its maximum both physically and visually with a play on transparency and the flow of spaces from in out. If you take interest in this marvelous home, here are things you might have to know about the home.
Situated in Auckland, New Zealand, City House is a marvelous home with a variety of outdoor rooms that complement bold pavilion forms. They are linked by a circulation gallery that creates an axial focus for a full length of the site on entry.
There are many things that the home has to offer including a street pavilion which has the potential to become two guest rooms that share a lounge area and a bathroom. The home also has a private rear pavilion that contains an indulgent main bedroom suite.
Also amongst the various parts of the marvelous home are sliding glass panels that disappear into pockets to create some open balconies for sleeping and living, and focus on the central courtyard as their oasis.
The house also has a street facade which is particularly private with a hint of the sophistication which lies beyond in the selection of color and materials. If you wonder how the home looks like, you can consider taking a peek at photos of the home shot by Simon Devitt.
