When talking about vacation homes, the Cove 6, a contemporary vacation home designed by SAOTA – Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen Architects is definitely one of the most stunning vacation homes ever built. The Cape Town-based studio managed to design the vacation home in such a way and make it very stunning.
The vacation home itself was completed back in 2006 and it is nestled in one of the towns in the Western Cape Province in South Africa and is perched above a beautifully dramatic seascape with stunning, spectacular views.
Built in South Africa, the vacation home was constructed on a site which actually constitutes one of the six exclusive use areas and the owner of the house is a well-traveled couple who are actually living in the United Kingdom.
They wanted a house that they can use during summer holidays and of course, due to the site the house was constructed in, it can offer a spectacular view and of the landscape surrounding the house.
Constructed in a site which can offer a spectacular landscape, the house is characterized by rolling landforms, as well as an indigenous vegetation of extraordinarily wide variety.
During the construction, the architects also made sure to use materials which could complement the natural color pallet and textures.
Thus, the concept used was that of a pavilion which blends with the nature but does not overpower the nature itself. As a result, the home is airy, but at the same time, it is also anchored into the landscape firmly by means of clad walls from heavy stones.
When designing the house, the architects also made sure to make an extensive use of stunning exterior spaces with every aspect of the beautifully designed house having one private deck or terrace.
They also successfully design the house to turn the house into something which can offer through-views which can ensure that people always experience the rolling landscape and the sea when staying in the house.
The house really has a lot of things to offer to the owners and those visiting the house.
