Amongst the many houses located in Croatia, this modern residence is without a doubt one of the most modernly stunning homes located in the country. It constitutes a family home for two families and it is located in an affluent area of Zagreb.
The home was created by SANGRAD and AVP Arhitekti in 2012 and the home’s design was greatly influenced by the topography and narrowness of the site but it still manages to provide enough privacy, light, end views of the exterior landscape for the occupants of the home.
The family home is designed on a narrow plot oriented north-south and it is also a home that is structured by buildings of diverse sizes and shapes. The layout is determined by the site topography, as well as the designer’s approach to divide the family home into two residential units.
The main idea was to conceive a house that could be read as a single object despite the house’s functional layout.
Constituting a family home, this modern residence has various different view angles according to the point of view. For instance, from the HercegovaÄka Street, the project looks like a low object which frames the panorama of the city of Zagreb.
From the French Republic square, the view of the house gives the impression of a large object that meanders along the topography behind the historical facade of Ilica.
Located in Zagreb, Croatia, the family home answers the configuration of the site by adapting itself to layers of the site. The home also connects the residential areas with the external ground on different levels and thus, the interior spaces in the house have their own privacy.
